Code of Conduct

1. Badges, Passes, and Tickets

a. Badges are property of the con until the end of the final Convention event.
b. Badges and passes are not transferable after signing in at the con.
c. Badges must be visible and unaltered so that staff can identify your sponsorship level, as well as age.
d. Those found using badges that are not their own, altering their badges to higher sponsorship levels, or to appear as an 18+ badge will have their badges taken away for the remainder of the Convention.
e. Those receiving passes to the next Convention as a prize may transfer that prize to another person if you are unable to attend BEFORE sign in at the con by informing the con via email.
f. Tickets to the Guest of Honor Dinner may be given to any member of the Convention.
g. Sponsorship Level may purchase additional tickets to the Guest of Honour dinner.


2. Age Requirements

a. Attendees who are over 18 will be required to present Government Issued Photo ID at sign in to get their 18+ badge, otherwise they will be issued a ‘Minor’ Badge.
b. Minor badges are for those between the ages of 10 through 17, and will grant access to all areas of the Convention with the exception of panels and events marked 18+.
c. Minors 16+ are welcome to come and visit on their own, without a chaperone or their parents in attendance.
(i) THEY MUST either be signed in by their parents, or come with a notarized copy of our minor consent form. For more information on ID/Paper work please Minors Visiting the Park.
(ii) 16+ Minors will be given a standard badge that has a special mark letting staff know they are under the age of 18.
(iii) There is no discount for Minors this age.
d. Minors aged 13-15 MUST at all times be accompanied by their parent, legal guardian OR a chaperone that is 18+.
(i) They need to have our minor consent form filled in by their parent or legal guardian along with the Chaperone section filled in. This form MUST be notarized, or they must be checked in in person by their parents or legal guardian, with proper ID. THEY CANNOT be checked in by their chaperone without the notarized minor consent form. For more information on IDs/paperwork please visit Minors Consent Forms.
(ii) 1 parent/guardian/chaperone who is 18+ is able to get into the Convention for free per minor, but MUST be with their minor at all times.
(iii) Badges will be twinned and should the minor be found without their chaperone repeatedly, both passes may be revoked.
e. Minors 12 and Under MUST at all times be accompanied by their parent, legal guardian OR a chaperone that is 18+.
(i) They need to have our minor consent form filled in by their parent or legal guardian along with the Chaperone section filled in. This form MUST be notarized, or they must be checked in in person by their parents or legal guardian, with proper ID. (ii) 1 parent/Guardian/chaperone of this age group is required to pay, but may have up to 3 minors with them.
(iii) Badges will be twinned and should the minor(s) be found without their chaperone repeatedly, passes may be revoked.
f. The hotel and the con are not responsible for attending minors.
g. Minors under 16 found wandering will be taken to Convention Operations and their badges will be revoked.


3. General Conduct

a. There is no intercom for the entire hotel, as we are taking up a good portion of it please plan on having a way of contacting your friends or children.
b. Behavior that endangers the hotel property, people, or property belonging to other people will not be tolerated.
c. The hotel has other guests and other events may be going on at the same time. Do not interfere in these events, or bother them.
d. Any issues with other attendees or guests of the hotel should be brought to Con Staff attention immediately so that it can be dealt with appropriately.
e. Fighting, lewd behavior, or public drinking (in unlicensed areas) will not be tolerated.
f. Private rooms that are paid for by attendees do not fall under Wild Prairie Fur Con’s Conduct code, but fall under the hotels jurisdiction. However, we ask that you do not destroy hotel property, that you respect other guests, and that you do not disturb other guests or events happening in the hotel.


4. Attendee/Vendor Eligibility

a. All attendees and vendors will be required to declare in writing their legal eligibility to attend the event in its current location and their acknowledgement of agreement with the Code of Conduct.
b. Attendees and vendors who are found to be in violation of any legal order or decree preventing attendance at this event at the current venue will be brought to the attention of local law enforcement and removed from the event with no refund, and barred from future events.
c. Attendees and vendors found to have a criminal conviction of violent, predatory, or other crimes threatening public safety, may be removed from the event with no refund and barred from future events.
d. Any potential or registered attendee or vendor with questions regarding their own eligibility to attend may send an email to any Convention Board member or Security through the Contact Us Page. All communication will be confidential.
e. Declarations to alert the con of anyone in violation of eligibility or anyone who may constitute a security or safety risk to convention attendees must be forwarded to the Convention Board via direct email via Contact Us Page or in writing to Wild Prairie Fur Con, 462 Sherbrook St, Winnipeg MB R3B2W5 Canada, or in writing delivered in person to any Convention Board member. All submissions will be considered on an individual basis. Social media posts or private messages are not sufficient. Any action taken by the Convention Board requires verifiable documentation. All written and electronic communications will remain confidential and will only be made available to law enforcement under legal order.


5. Costumes and Weapons

a. Costumes should be appropriate for public viewing. As such, BDSM and fetish wear are not allowed, and you will be asked to change out of them into other costumes or normal clothing. Final discretion on this is up to Con Board members.
b. Costumes that may damage the site or pose a risk to other con goers may need to be ‘temporarily’ modified so that they are safe. (such as massive wings that move without wearer control being locked into a single position)
c. Prop weapons are welcome, but they must meet our Weapons Policies as outlined below and be tagged by Convention staff (non-permanently).
d. Costumes are not consent. If a performer /costumer/fursuiter tells you to leave them alone, go away, if someone is found harassing someone because of their costume or reported for doing such you will be dealt with as laid out in the Harassment Policies
e. Any costumes, items, or iconography that are associated with any historical atrocity, or current hate group are not allowed. Those who have them will be given one chance to remove them, or face immediate removal from the con without refund.
f. Any items that are gun shaped MUST have a permanent bright orange tip, and go through prop inspection at the Convention Operations area. Any water-gun/NERF items will be peace bonded so that the trigger is permanently depressed to disallow use while at the con.
g. Swords/sabers/pole-arms MUST be peace bonded, and not constructed of metal at all, or wood over 36 inches in length.
h. Please be aware that large props can make movement difficult, and there will be no places in the con (aside from your personal room) to store your props so make sure you can deal with them ALL day.
i. Don’t pick up a fellow fursuiter or cosplayer’s prop without their permission.
j. No projectiles of any kind (foam, water, paper, silly string, plastic, food, metal, etc)
k. Use of the Headless Lounge is limited to Fursuiters and their handlers as well as Con Staff.
l. When in public areas of the hotel some form of footwear is required.


6. Photography and Videography

a. Photography and videography are welcome for personal and noncommercial uses by any and all in public areas.
b. Media coverage by official news agencies must be cleared by the Convention Chairman or Vice Chairman and follow our Media Policies.
c. The Headless Lounge is restricted from photography and videography.


These rules are subject to modification and amendments as they are require. As well we do ask that attendees do not try to work around the code of conduct to try to get away with things that they should not be doing, and of course all laws, local and national are to be followed. All decisions regarding the Code of Conduct rests with the Board of Directors and their say on its interpretation are final.
